About Mrs. Nakagawa
I grew up in the Greenhaven/ Pocket neighborhood. I have a vested interest in giving back to the community where I was raised. I have two children, Alyssa and Bradley, who have both gone through the Didion program here at Genevieve Didion. We also have a puppy named Bentley. He just turned 4 in June!
I attended UC Davis for my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. I also received my California Teaching Credential from CSU Sacramento. In 2014, I earned my GATE certification. Go Aggies! Stingers up! A definite "Causeway Classic".
I have 25 years of experience teaching in SCUSD and have taught grade levels K, 4, 5, 6. Nineteen years teaching intermediate students, five years teaching Kindergarten.
My hobbies are scrapbooking, reading, painting, and shopping. I co-lead a Girl Scout Troop for Troop 569 and also volunteer my time for Warlords Basketball, JFK Women's Golf team, JFK Women's Basketball team, and SSA. My husband Neil and I currently reside in Greenhaven/ Pocket. We both love to travel, and watch our kids play soccer, basketball, and golf.
My passion for teaching has been a love since I was a child, watching and listening to my parents, as they were both teachers for SCUSD. Their shared stories of success and making differences in students’ lives inspired me.
I look forward to being your child’s teacher this year, working together as a team to benefit your child’s education.
